Ceremony

Your wedding will be the event of the year at the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center. With over 7.5 acres in the heart of San Francisco’s Civic Center district, your every heart’s desire can be turned into reality.

The Center offers several impressive sites for a ceremony including the War Memorial Opera House with classic Beaux Arts features such as gold-leaf rosettes and marble columns. Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall boasts a marvelous view of the city and provides a breathtaking spot to exchange your vows. Or hold your ceremony in the Veteran’s Building where built-in bars and a grand piano set amidst stunning architecture transforms your big day into an elegant affair.

With 7.5 acres of classic architecture in the heart of San Francisco, your wedding events at this historic building are sure to be the talk of the town.

War Memorial Opera House

This classic Beaux Arts landmark, available when the resident companies are not performing, offers many event spaces for groups of up to 4,000.

The grand lobby and promenades, featuring gold-leaf rosettes and marble columns, are perfect for a seated dinner of up to 500 or a reception of 1,000. One level below is the Cafe at the Opera House, which features ornate built-in bars and parquet flooring. This area can be utilized for additional space during receptions or as an intimate venue for entertainment.

Additional levels including the Grand Tier, North Box Bar, Dress Circle and outdoor Loggia are also available for large receptions or seated dinners.

Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall

Built in 1980, the Davies Symphony Hall offers a modern environment with a sweeping view of San Francisco's skyline. Comprising four levels, the Symphony Hall is perfect for impressive receptions with a capacity of at least 500 guests per level.

Veteran’s Building

Offering two distinctive event locations, the San Francisco Veteran's Building has stunning architectural elements. The Veteran's Building Lobby and Promenades can be utilized for a seated dinner of 350 to 450 and reception of up to 1,000. The Green Room, featuring built-in bars and a grand piano, has an attached outdoor Loge and a view of San Francisco's City Hall. One of the most popular locations for weddings, the Green Room can seat 250 guests for dinner, 300 for a theater-style meeting or 500 for a standing reception.
